if the cards end up horizontal, it would be better to have some sort
of support for the free edge (the top edge if the motherboard were
still flat.) my gs mother board is mounted with the slots vertical.
i check the cards from time to time to make sure they're still well
seated but nothing has moved yet in over a year.
