Although it was one of the first public domain utilities ever written
for the IIGS, Dale Taylor's STS (10 Second Timed Screen saver) CDA is
a wonderful way to capture IIGS SHR screens.
Dale released STS at the 1987 AppleFest in San Francisco, and even
graciously donated the source code to the public domain.
Tony Ward (A2.Tony - the Genie A2 Librarian) used that source code to
update it, and he released his update maybe a year ago.
STS is so old, I wrote about in Shareware Solutions, when that column
first appeared in The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide. In fact, I'm pretty
sure that my review of STS appeared in the very first Shareware
Solutions column ever (Those Delectable DAs).
I think the only thing that dates STS is that it saves graphics as
uncompressed $C1 filetypes.
Aside from that, I've had it installed on my system since 1987. It
worked great then, and it continues to work great now.
