Need to read IIgs disk

I have been given an Apple IIgs, 3.5" disk with an Apple Works 
database file on it. I need to get this database file to Filemaker Pro 
on my Mac. Is this possible? How can I do it?
 My Mac thinks the IIgs floppy is alien and wants to erase it. I have 
the ][e emulator and that won't read the floppy either. Is there a faq 
that covers this?
