I am getting some strange results with an Apple memory card (1MB, 
byte-window type). AppleWorks recognizes the card and sizes it properly 
in my old IIe only if the Rocket chip is set to normal Apple operation. 
When I put the card into a new IIe (the kind with extended keybord and 
5305 processor), AppleWorks has trouble finding and sizing the memory 
card. The card diagnostics works OK.

In the older IIe, whether Rocket chip is set to normal or to fast, ProDOS 
recognizes the card and sets up ram disk properly, but AppleWorks (3 & 4) 
can not sizs the card properly (claims anything from 16K to 2MB desktop). 

Can anyone shed some light on this?
