HELP! IIe's in the Classroom

Hi,

I am volunteering at a local elementary school, trying to get them using
computers better.  They have a lot of Macintosh machines that I'm working
with now.  However, they also have a lot of IIe's.  My question is; What
the HE** CAN I DO WITH THESE THINGS?  It would be nice to use them for
word processing and typing practice, but they don't have any descent
programs.  Any suggestions of programs and where I can download them? 
(This is a public school, so needless to say I can't be buying many
programs).
