Re: //c portable?
It depends on what you mean by portable. For a while you could buy a flat
screen and _hefty_ battery pack for the IIc and it could probably still be
done. However, the flat screen needs really good light to be readable and the
current requirements means motorcycle or marine batteries (i.e., heavy).
Personally I like having a computer I can use when I get where I'm going and
not while I'm getting there, so in my case portable doesn't mean power on the
road (or air). My two travel machines are my IIc+ with a flat screen (for
traveling by air) and a GS (when I drive somewhere) with a small monitor and
in internal hard drive. I plug'm in the hotel room where the light is usually
adequate for the screen flat screen. Oddly enough my Apple PowerBook stays
back at the office. I lugged it around for a while, but never really used it.
With the IIs I can give my brain a little exorcise tinkering with different
programs I'm working on.
Have fun!
