HELP - Apple IIgs & Internet

I'm trying to get my father "wired" & I don't know how to proceed.  He is
quite satisfied with his Apple IIgs and I don't know where to find (& what
to look for!) in respect to S/W & H/W.  I am reasonably versant with Macs
& Windows boxes BUT I can't seem to find the right people to ask here in
Toronto, ON, CANADA.

ANY help will be appreciated!
