This is the newer version of the mapping mechanism, which allows
encoding of the auxiliary type.  There was also an older form, which
only encodes the file type, but it also uses ASCII only.  Set the file
type to '19  ', '1A  ' or '1B  ' (two hexadecimal digits followed by
two spaces).  Apple File Exchange and the HFS FST on the IIgs both
support these.
