IDT Internet provider & Apple2 ?

 I am tired of my local Internet access provider, it's too slow.
And i dont like the big companies like Delphi, etc.  So i thought i
would try a company called IDT.  Its only $15 unlimited for text only.

The problem:  They wanted to know whether i have an ibm compat. or a Mac.

I said neither.  She said what?  I assumed text only meant VT100 standard but
the woman i was talking to to subscribe was only a weekend operator and didnt
understand any of this.  Im guessing they may want to send me special telecom
software to access their server that an Apple ][gs obviously cant run.

Anybody out there us IDT and can tell me whats up?
Can i use them with a GS & ProTERM?
