GSymbolix Experimenters!!!
Has anyone been experimenting with GSymbolix V1.9????
I had lots of trouble until I printed out the manual ...
(yea I know, RTFM).
I am an interested amateur(?) but I found some interesting formulas
in:
1) MathLand - Nibble Sept. 1986 Page 70 _and_
2) "Calculus Accompanied on the Apple" by Hans Sagan
(Reston Publishing, 1984)(ISBN 0-8358-0633-7)
I was able to get the GSymbolix examples (2D & 3D), the MathLand Sin
and Cos examples and some of the Calculus examples.
What I can't figure out is:
- The MathLand "Saddle" curve 3D) ...
(W=90-C; V=50-R; Z=9*(W*W/1225-V*V/324)+20)
Where Z=Z, R=Row (X), C=Column (Y).
- The Calculas Polar Co-ordinate Rose (?)(2D)
(R = 20 * Sin(4*x))
Where x = Theta
There are couple of other neat ones like a decaying function that I
can't (?) figure out.
While we are figuring this out we could share some 'formula files' by
shrinking and binscii'ing them (and posting) or uploading to some
common location.
Any input could be interesting ... but then we all 'gotta pay'!!! :-)
