If all you want is a keyboard that is detachable form the IIe, you
could just take your IIe keyboard out of the regular case, mount it in
a generic steel keyboard holder available at most electronics stores
(you'll have to cut and drill it yourself), and use a 19 (is that the
right number?)pin ribbon connector to link it all together. I made one
with a keypad along side and it had a 4 or 6 foot reach without any
timing problems. It still works fine, 4 years after the surgery.
