On one of my Apple IIes I already have a serial interface for the keybord.
It uses a 74LS165 on the motherboard and a 74LS164 in the keyboard. The
keyboard connects to the Apple via a cable with a 9 pin DIN plug. How could
I connect a PC compatible keyboard to this? I'm thinking of something either
a 74165 or a PIA and a ROM to convert the PC's signals to something the Apple
can read. I don't have the circuit diagrams but I can work out where the
keyboard data goes from the way the 74164 and surrounding chips are wired.
I'm not too worried about much messy stuff as the Apple already has wires
running around for a switchable ROM (enhanced/unenhanced).
Thanks for any help,
Rob.
