Well, it only took me two guesses to figure out that the DRAM chip
that corresponds to the lsb is on the RIGHT when looking at the circuit
board. Having replaced DRAM 6, I got another (different) error. Luckily
I was able to piggyback a known good chip on top of the second bad one
to determine that it was indeed the RAM and not the controller that was
causing the problem.  I had tried piggy-backing to isolate the bad RAM
previously, but it hadn't occurred to me that there might be two bad
chips....
