    Boy, there was no need to wait "a coupla weeks" for
answers! Thanks to Jason Lewis, Jeff, Geoff Weiss, Leif Strand,
and Clay Juniel for their responses. 

    My problem turned out to be the "Where oh where are the
wave files?" bug. You can put Music Studio anywhere on the hard
disk you like, but the WAVES folder >>>MUST<<< appear at the
top level.

    Apparantly very early versions of Music Studio have other
problems with a hard disk installation; Jeff sent a patch for
these which I will post (or request him to post, so he can take
credit first-hand) if anyone wants. Again, send mail to this
