There is a 50-file limit (or was it 51??) in the root directory of a
volume. Subdirectories don't have such a limit. Any one file is limited to
16MB, but I don't think that's the problem here :).

Have you run Prosel's Mr. Fixit over your HD? Maybe your ProDOS structure
is buggered ... it does happen. ProDOS is not a very sophisticated file
system, it doesn't have "self-healing" mechanisms.

Also, what version of ProTerm are you using? Latest is 3.1 (with lots of
bug fixes and stuff added on later, which you can get from Intrec as well),
and it always worked great for me.
