It was an Apple employee, and he went to jail. Rumour has it that the judge
never read the letters he received: He dismissed them right out as being
biased, or being written by people with the same character flaws.

Mind you, that's not even third-hand :) For all I know, the judge could
have studied all the letters avidly, and then made his decision.

I don't recall the sentence time ... was it three years? Pretty harsh,
anyway.
