About the only thing that an Apple II has in common with an IBM is they
are both computers and the operating system is loosly based on the
PC, very loosly. The system started running Dos 3.3 and latter went on
to ProDOS which gave it more flexabliity. The Apple II for the most part
has the OS on its disks so you don't need to place a startup disk in
first. On the net there are a lot of FAQ's to help. You might also try
and find an Apple II users group, there are still a lot around. Also look
around for local Apple II based BBS system.
