That was how most of us felt when we first heard about 1WSW. However, many
of Dr. Tom's claims sounded too good to be true, so we started investigating.

1WSW claimed both Gogs and Roger Wagner as members, but both of them denied
any such ties to 1WSW when asked (Roger even said "I've never heard of them").

Those of us who are familiar with IIgs sound checked out the VAMPS disks:
poorly done stereo remixes of MODS we already had originals for, and with
a ReadMe file that demonstrated blatant cluelessness about sound and the
IIgs audio hardware, even though it claims to be above our level of
comprehension -- sorry, we have ample academic resources to debunk it.

Others (like Ian Schmidt) who are good at disassembling checked out the
"new versions" of software like the VAMPS modified NoiseTracker: sector
edited and messed up just enough to explain the incompatibilities required
by the "enhanced capabilities" of the programs -- yah right, a real programmer
would know how to make both the new and old stuff work. The original NT by
FTA supported three different music file formats, for example.

I fully agree here, however Dr. Tom has done far more harm than good, by
raising peoples hopes and then failing to deliver, and then insisting
repeatedly that we are all trying to sabotage his supporting the IIgs.

If that's what he calls support, then you can bet we want to sabotage it.
Although a more accurate description would be Damage Control!
