ROM version?

I have an Apple IIgs.  I was wondering what type of ROM I had.  I know 
there is teh origional, type01, adn type 03 (I think).  I read the Apple 
][ faq and it said when you initially start up it will tell you.  So I 
turned it one and it said "ROM VERSION 01" on teh bottom of the screen.  
Fair enough says I, but then I read a little furthur in the faq and it 
says that if you have a Limited edition Woz IIgs then you have thge 
origional ROMs.  I have a limited edition Woz IIgs.  Who is right?  The 
computer or teh dude who wrote the faq?  The computer is used...is it 
possible the previous owners upgraded it?  Is such an upgrade possible?  
I've had no problems running GS/OS 3.2 ( I think) but want to run 6.0.  
Is this possible with version 01 ROMs?
