I dont' think any current portable's battery - or any reasonable number of
them - will do.. the IIC is from an era before low power. Probably drain
one of them portable's batteries in about 30 seconds - IF you could
connect it.
Best thing I ever saw was a guy who'd taken a bunch of them lantern
batteries - six, I think, and hoked them together with a small voltage
regulator...it worked. I can say that much for it.
Me - I'm looking to find the specs to convert a busted power cord to
supply power from my Cigarette lighter, so I can write while I camp out..
