O.K., I guess I did leave out a crucial part, however, I didn't know it
at the time I posted for him.

Background: He had one drive that worked fine. It turns out that it had
an interenal termination and also had the two external connectors. Only
one of the connectors had a cable in it and it went to the RF. Call
this drive A.

He bought a 40 meg Mac castoff that clearly had and internal
termination so it had to go last in the chain. Call this drive B.

His hook up was: RF => Drive A (ID6 or so) => Drive B (ID2)

Drive B showed up as "offline" even thought they had "some" success in
opening directories (but not copying files) from Drive B. (I'm
reporting this. I did not see it with my baby blues.)

My friend then found out that Drive A had an internal terminator,
opened it up, removed same and went back to the configuration:

RF => Drive A (ID6 or so) => Drive B (ID3) (Notice they had changed to
ID3 by now.) Same results as above i.e., could not copy files.

Today, the president of the local Apple club, the person that sold
the drive to my friend, came over and made the configuration:

RF => Drive A (ID6 or so) => cable => terminator => Drive B (ID3)

Worked like a champ.

Don't know if there is anything to address from a RF viewpoint.

Kind Regards,
