I don't understand, if it's offline, RF should even mount the drive at 
all. So how could they access the drive at all?

Does drive B have terminator installed?

Well, that's another one of those mysteries of SCSI: Where to put the 
terminators. Some times ago I tried to connect a two drives together on 
the RF and both had terminators on them, and the drive worked perfectly 
without a glitch. I would guess, it doesn't hurt to put terminators in 
the middle of the SCSI chain, or have more than one terminator in the 
chain. To my knowledge, SCSI terminators simply reduces the line noise to 
increase reliability. (Am I right?) :-)
