Was there any Bugs in WIZARDRY? Is there a Wiz Faq? Whats the last Version?

THANKS Andrew Greenberg and Robert Woodhead!
(Are these guys still around????)

Ok, somethings funny here, I have been playing Wizardry for YEARS now, and
every once in a while, my scenario diskette gets toasted, loose a few
characters etc. I still blame my drives needing service, but I have switched
them around a few times to no avail. This was fine and dandy till the image
for my emulator started to do the same thing with my scenario image on my PC
harddrive! Somethings up here, and a friend noticed the same thing, he had
objects coming up with blank names...

1) I curious, was there any disk related bugs in the Original Wizardry that
could eat characters or whatever?

2) What was the original method of copy protection for Wizardry? Curious for
historical reasons (always wanted to know...)

3) What was the last/latest version of Wizardry? (I have 2.1)

PS. Has anyone thought of compiling a Wizardry FAQ? Its such a popular game
and got quite a few of us into the computer scene way back when, I think it
deserves a faq. (I'd love to compile one, but I need source material). If
there isn't one, and anyone has any good Wizardry tid bits, I'll start-up a
faq.
