The problem is that you are using an ancient version of AppleWorks.
Version 3.0 and maybe even 2.1 can "see" the extra RAM available. If you
can locate the software for the card, it will patch the older versions of
AppleWorks to make use of the extra RAM. If you can't locate the
software, and happen to be in the SF Bay area, I can make a copy for you.
I don't do BINSCII, as I use an IBM online.
