Apple added some patches to 3.3 when the //e came out. The added code is mainly
at $BA69, which formerly was the beginning of an area of unused bytes. The code
was to better support the //e's 80 column display and to try to fix the APPEND
bug if I remember right. It's documented in Beneath Apple DOS.

Yep. I've used my //e's system master disk on my 48K ][ with Applesoft card
and it works so I don't think it matters too much.
