Apple II User group HELP

I was a member of a local Apple II users group some time ago, but
they have gone over to the Mac now. They have even taken the Hard
Drive off the local Apple BBS. They no longer support the Apple II at
all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are still a lot of Apple II E and II GS users in the area and
what I want to know is what it takes to start an Apple II users
group. I understand that Apple still has an Apple users connection.
How do we get registered with them? What I need to know is what each
step that I have to go through to form an Apple II only users group.
I use an Apple II GS, System 6.01.a 14,400 modem, LaserWriter and
ImageWriter II.
