Merlin 16+ is better. :-)

Merlin-16 requires a 16-bit processor (as implied by the name), i.e. a
IIgs, or a IIe/IIc with a 65802.
Merlin-16+ only runs on the IIgs (it uses GS/OS, whereas Merlin-16 runs
in ProDOS-8).
