For what it's worth I do feel that there will be increasing pressure on
magazines in all fields to provide content not conducive to electronic
forums. One's that serve as advertisers for commercial products may very
well disappear. In fact I can think of few magazines that will not. This of
course is not going to happen next week, but it's coming on fast. Why anyone
on earth would consider PC Magazine et al worth $4 is beyond me. I do think
that GS+ does provide something that is very worthwhile to GS users and has
a place. Don't want to comment on II Alive as they have already announced
their intentions.
Computers, modems, networking, ISDN, etc...are linked. It will be rare to
find computer islands in the very near future. This is one reason why TCP/IP
is so important to the GS. It just has to get done.
