The latest OS for a GS is System 6.0.1 and is available for DL'ing from
various apple two sites, try Apple's web site "www.apple.com"
Also it is available from various dealers and this maybe the best route
to take since it requires 6 disks for the whole thing

Any SCSI hard drive can easily be added to a GS, get a RamFAST SCSI card
(the best in my opinion) and a HD. Remember though, a HD must be
partitioned into 32 meg partitions maximum. And a RAmfast will allow you
to have up to 12 devicess available at one time. This includes any
active disk drives. So in your case you already have 4 devices online if
they are all active.

I would recommend at least 4 meg of RAM, and you are in luck, there are
several new cards being announced recently that will include 8 megs on
board. Also check out the various for sale ads on A2 marketplace for used
cards. Applied Engineering made some good ones. (AE GS Ram + is what I use)

The best magazines around for a GS are GS+ (they have posted their
address here and you can request a sample issue, I think, from the publishers
right here on line. This is a great publication and each issue comes with
disk full of original programs, some great da's and great advice articles
Call 1-800-662-3634 for ordering, 6 issues for $24.00 a real bargain
Also call Joe Kohn, who is also around here a lot and subscribe to
Shareware Solutions II, this is also an excellent publication and Joe is
an expert on using an Apple on the internet. You'll love this one too!
Contact Joe here on the Net at joko@crl.com for info (12 issues for $35)
Hope this helps
