Genie...is it worth it?

Just how much does the average user (assuming such a creature exists) pay
monthly for Genie?  Is it possible to stay under the basic monthly service
and still make use of its services?  Are there programs to quickly grab
all the files one wants and then get off?  Not to get personal or
intrusive (after all, you only answer this if you want to), how much do
you pay monthly?  Does it vary wildly from month to month?  Are there
areas to stay away from if one doesn't want one's monthly bill to balloon?
