Your //GS power supply is certainly overtaxed right now. The
accelerator by itself draws quite a bit of power. The sound you hear is
certainly a sign that your power supply cannot handle the load. The
chirping sound is most likely a bad capacitor, not a transformer. The
failure is caused by the increase in heat. You should get a heavy duty GS
power supply from someone like ABC Direct. They sell the Applied
Engineering heavy duty supply. Call them at (800) 481-6782 or send them
e-mail at ABCDIRECT@aol.com for a catalog. They carry the entire AE
product line.
