Help with mystery card ID

To: lacoss@cello.gina.calstate.edu

LC>I need some help identifying a card. ... This sticker is on the
LC>largest chip on the board which is labelled MCM2708C. There are 4
LC>other socketed chips on the board, SN74LS377N, SN74LS00N, and two
LC>74LS74A. The only other things on the board are various capacitors
LC>and resistors, and a 16 pin header. The cable attached to the 16 pin
LC>header ends in a Centronics 36 pin plug. This makes me think it might
LC>be a parallel printer card, but I'm not sure. ...

It certainly sounds like a 'generic' parallel printer card. The '2708' is the
card's ROM program and the '74LS377' is an 8-bit latch. The Amphenol 36-pin
connector (commonly called a 'Centronics' connector; after the printer company
that 'standardize' on the connector) is a 'dead give away'.
