I had everything but the LCD screen to make a //c portable. The carry
case came with a battery pack and room for the LCD. I just never coughed
up the $599 (retail, probably $400 dealer cost) to buy one.
Apple made one, then discontinued it. It seems to me it was a company
that started with a "Q" that sold them. I know Quality Computers bought
most of Apple stock when they discontinued them and sold them for a while.
I also had one of the rare Video 7 RGB adaptors for that port. It was
connected to an Apple RGB color monitor. (the old RGB with Power Tilt and
Trim).
That //c was decked out. 1.5MB of RAM, 3.5" & 5.25" external FD, ZIP chip
4Mhz, Z80, ProApp 20MB hard disk, Apple RGB Monitor, Mouse, Joystick,
Imagewriter...
That was the top of the line as you could get at the time...3 days later
the IIgs came out :-)
