yah... there are MANY packages available to do that.  call up your 
local IBM techie BBS and look (either in a COMM or UTIL directory) for 
Zmodem software that's -not- a term prog.  something that says "can be 
linked to -xxxx- as an external protocol" is good.

i did that for a while with my apple and an old Seequa Chameleon (this 
place is a veritable roach motel for 'vintage technology'), because the 
Seequa's display is horrible (at best).

problem i found was that certain apps on the IBM side liked to think 
that the screen could be accessed by writing to the RAM directly... 
(and my term software wasn't smart enough to translate the line-draw 
symbols... i got lots of stuff like DDDDDDDDDDDDDD).
