HELP- //e & modem

A person I work with asked me to add a modem to his Father in Law's 
Apple //e.  Since I only work with IBMs, I shouldn't have, but I did,
and now I am way over my head.

I ordered an Apple 1200 modem, Terminus communications program, Super serial
card, and modem cable.  The modem doesn't seem to work.  

Q1.  Using Terminus, how do you tell it to dial?  In the Autodial Macro, 
     do you just type the number, is it a Hayes ATDT, or is it some Apple
     dial code.

Q2.  If it works, will I hear the dial tone and the dialing, or is it silent?

Q3.  Are there any other questions I should have asked?
