now now, if you know half of what you're doing Kermit-65 is the best 
(of course, it does not offer the extreme protocol flexibility).

it DOES offer the advantage of being able to run on just about any 
setup (e.g. DOS3.3, ProDOS, a bevy of display hardwares, a bevy of 
serial ports/modems)
minor adjustments necessary, most are automated.
(unfortunately, it only supports Xmodem & Kermit... but it WORKS, and 
it supports VT100.  it's what I use.)
