Hmmm...Well, I have 13 Quadras to choose from...maybe they just don't like
my 800k disks.  I have noticed that sometimes when I format HFS disks at
home on the GS, the Macs don't want to read them, but going the other way
I have no troubles at all.

In reality, I'm beginning to suspect that load of (useless) MacLink+
translators they've got installed on these Macs.  Oh, well...if only I
could run GS/OS on my machine at work...then I could do the translation
there and run the HFS disk down to the computer lab...
