AWGS 1.1 and default configuration

Does anyone know how to configure AppleWorks GS 1.1 so that the default 
"save" volume is the same as the program itself?  Right now, it wants to 
save files to a different partition on my harddrive, and it's labourious 
to designate the original drive each time.  Also, I'd like to make it 
easy for my kids to save their WP and GR files (the youngest is 5, and 
doesn't quite get it on the right drive).  Thanks!
