  YES. SCSI-2 is _not_ some magic new standard. In fact, it's not
much of anything at all, unless you're talking about CD-ROM drives. :-)
SCSI-2's two improvements both require different cabling and faster
microcontrollers than drive makers want to pay for.

  SCSI-2 devices are also required to be backwards compatible with 
SCSI-1 hosts in any event.
