I use Sidespread with Appleworks 5.0 on an Appletalk network to a LaserWriter
NT.  No problems, works fine, bit is s..l...o....w.....  Maybe 15 to 20
minutes to print a couple pages.  Are you waiting long enough?

Also, Appleworks 3.x-5.0 with UM3.1, 4.x does have some problems with
Appletalk.  4.x and 5.0 try to disable UM with Appletalk active.  But I can
run OK with ATalk and UM.  This is on a IIe 8MHz Zip, and a Rom01 IIGS ZipGS
8/64.  Don't know about slower systems.

Try to get the 5.0 upgrade.  I think it is well worth it.
