Between the RZ23 and the pass-through terminator is one of those cheap
PC-accessories Cen50->Cen50, but it only uses a 25-line cable. Between
the pass-through terminator and the Viper 150 is 50-line ribbon cable
running from a Cen50->2x25 female header socket.

I received the drive bare. No case, no power supply. While I'm trying
it out, I have it plugged into a 200W PeeCee XT power supply. If it
proves to work OK eventually, I'll make arrangements to give it a
proper case/PS.
During some of my attempts to write a backup, the drive/tape will start
streaming OK, but when there are still about 20000 blocks to be written,
the drive will suddenly stop, and start returning errors to the backup
utility.
Sometimes, when I try to access the drive with the ScsiUtils, the drive
will start seeking back and forth over a small portion of the tape
and will not stop until I eject the tape. The RamFAST utility may or
may not hang at this point.
Another time, I was running a backup and even after the last block had
been written, the drive continued to run the tape from end to end many
times until I ejected the tape.
I managed to make another backup with 0 errors logged, but then I tried
to overwrite with another backup and it just ran the tape back and forth
over a short length and banged the head-position lead screw against the
stop many times until I ejected the tape (and let the backup run to
completion with errors).
Thanks for any suggestions this can bring.
