Don't worry - the 65SC02 is just the name used by a different CPU
manufacturer (probably GTE or WDC) for the 65C02. The ZIP will work fine.

Possibly a bug in the utilities. I can't see any specific reason for
the chip not to be writable in the platinum IIe, unless it is due to
something like interrupts (which should be disabled by the clock driver
and write software) or extra ROM select cycles. Unfortunately, I don't
have the latest version of the IIe Technical Reference (which describes
the platinum IIe) so I can't check the socket configuration. Nothing
looks obvious from a quick check of the Dallas DS1216E data sheet or
the pinouts of the 2764 and 27128 EPROMs.
Does the NSC work under either of the CD or EF ROMs in the older IIe,
or does it only work under the EF ROM?
