The maximum number of active "units" (physical, RAMdrives, SCSI partitions,
etc) is 14.
The typical total, however, is 11. The reason for this is that P8 scans all
of the slots for disk controllers before doing a 2nd pass over the Smartport
devices looking for devices to remap to unused units #'s. Since the 'normal'
Apple //e user has /RAM [1 unit] (unless P8 is alter so as not to install it)
and a 5.25" disk controller [2 units], they will have (3) units allocated
before P8 attempts to allocates to extra SCSI partitions.
