Resource-Central Hard Drive Dies with ICON

Well, Leif, I can't really offer you any advice on what to do, but I do
have a possibility about what your problem is after turning it off. If
this drive is a fairly old one, and is unable to park it's own heads,
this could be your problem. I got a drive from a user of mine, and was
using it for my BBS. One night my girlfriend accidentally turned off
the drive. I turned it back on but it wouldn't power up. I started to
sweat as I'd never had this happen to me before. I kept on turning it
off and on until it finally spun up to speed. That really scared me. I
think this happened once after that then I began to suspect that it was
an old non-parking drive and I started to use my park.heads util. Ever
since that time, every time I power it down, I park the heads myself and
I've never had the problem again...Just a thought.

Give what you would like to receive,
Glenn
