Hmm..personal opinion.. I'd say that speeds are really similar. Usually
because it seems that Mac software suffers from "Microsoft Bloat". That
is, it tends to be a tad inefficient.
YOu can have up to 8MB (that I know of) RAM on a IIGS.
A truer vision of how I feel might be to point out that I have two systems
here on my desk: My trusty Apple IIGS.. and a PowerMac 6100.
