You should make a harddisk partition to ProDOS format for the IIe card
to use.  On any one of the two IIe card installer disks (if you don't
have them, download the disk images from ftp.apple.com) the HD SC Setup
application can't help you to partition your harddisk into 10M ProDOS
(yes, so your whole harddisk will be erased) format.

And it's also better to use ProDOS File System (an extension file which
is also in the installer disks) or PC Exchange 2.0, so that you can also
see the 10M ProDOS harddisk in the "Mac mode".
