It seems the latest Ninja Force demo (as I feared) is again
not ROM 3 compatible. I've just downloaded "MEGADEMO" and tried it
on my system with all the proper requirements -- an 8/16 ZipGS which
is enabled, and 2MB RAM of which is all available; I even disabled
my /RAM5 (Not that I should need to with 5.125MB RAM).
First thing to happen: A message appears that complains my
accelerator is not running at full-speed or one wasn't found. It reads,
"Your GS is too slow!" with a scrolling text message asking you to press
any key to reboot. Fortunately, I *have* discovered a way to override this
check, so if you have a ROM 3 do the following. Boot the first disk, yet
just a moment before the message is to appear, try accessing the Control
Panel. Press (in this order) OA, Control, ESC. If you've timed it right,
you should see the NinjaForce splash screen and the demo will load normally.
However, I've run into a second bump, it doesn't like Disk-2! :(
Upon selecting any demo that is located on Disk-2, it'll show the
robot graphic and ask that you swap disks. When I do, it refuses to recognize
the second disk and spits it back out! I'm going to attempt downloading disk-2
once more, but somehow I suspect it dislikes the ROM 3's differences in
smartport firmware. So for the moment, all I can view is 'Intro' and
'Credits' part of the demo (More or less a tease for the rest of the demo!
*sigh*). I hope this is fixed, either by NinjaForce themselves or some kind
of patch... :/
