The definitive source would be the Apple IIgs Firmware Reference Manual from
Addison Wesley (and the update to it from APDA). In addition the Apple //c
reference manual and the Apple Memory Expansion Card for the Apple // Reference
Manual each have enough to get you going. Add to that the Smartport Tech Notes
and you can easily write a Smartport of your own (I have written two so far,
one for a ROMdisk card and the other a simple test stub to see what happens
when P8 v2.0.1 has 14 volumes and tries to add /RAM).
