Last week, I finally got the network set up here in the Outdoor School
office. Right now all I have on it is a GS (ROM 1, 4 meg, RF SCSI), a
LaserWriter 320, and an ImageWriter II with an Apple AppleTalk card.
Printing behavior is occasionally strange. It seems as though the
printer needs to be powered up BEFORE the computer or else the printer
doesn't work, and sometimes doesn't even show up in the Net Printer
CDev. Is this normal behavior? Or, is the AppleTalk card in the printer
toasted? (I got it for $5 at a used computer store) Or might there be
another problem?
On a couple of occasions, the printer printed, but the spacing and fonts
were messed up. I erased my boot partition and reloaded the system
software, which seems to have cleared that one up.
