That is the way the joystick buttons work (same as apple keys). Don't
push them when booting, or leave a book on them. Problem solved :)

Sounds like your system is continuously accessing your 5.25" drives, which
is the only way it can tell if something is in these drives. In the finder,
switch them to inactive. You will probably never use a 5.25 from within
GS/OS anyway, and they will magically appear in any 8bit program (such as
copy ][+ etc.
